One of the problems with a model is seeing a pattern, then forcing the people to fit the model.

In NZ we had the bell shape curve for our school exams of every student in the country. But we also had our schools ranked throughout the country.

You sit your exam and your exam mark gets combined with your schools rank.

So you could be 20% better than everyone else in the country, but if your school is ranked low. Your final grade will not reflect your actual exam results.

It was a bit of a weird system it’s changed now to a credit system and you can get a achieved credit with merit or just an achieved credit.
